Waseca High School
Waseca High School houses approximately 650 students in grades 9 through 12. We offer a rigorous curriculum which meets Minnesota standards while offering post-secondary preparation including College in the Schools and Advanced Placement courses.
Our students have surpassed the state average in writing, math, and science on the MCA II exams and have met the average in reading. In addition we continue to offer our students opportunities for career preparation in business, industrial technology, agriculture, and Family and Consumer Science, and computer programming.
The Bluejay Way guides our student expectations and character education promoting the importance of being prompt and prepared, respecting people and property, being motivated, and setting goals with the idea that failure is not an option.
Our vision points out the importance we place on connecting with our students. We promote participation in extra-curricular activities. Our music program has a strong tradition of excellence. We offer a variety of athletic opportunities along with academic clubs. Our foreign language students have many opportunities to travel abroad.

Junior High School
Waseca Junior High is a family of approximately 315 students and 50 teachers and support staff housed in a user friendly facility opened in 1998. Waseca Jr. High serves grades 7 and 8 and offers a strong program in academics and co-curricular activities.
Waseca Jr. High is very proud that we are consistently above state average on The Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments, and scored in the top 10% on the Science portion in 2008.
Our responsibility and commitment to students and parents is to help you acquire the tools and knowledge necessary to successfully pursue your education and become a productive citizen. We see the junior high years as a time to provide each student with an opportunity to experience many different interests and expanded their skills. Our overall goal is to foster a learning environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and being a lifelong learner.

The Waseca Area Learning Center

The Waseca Area Learning Center (WALC) is dedicated to providing students a place where they can be engaged in meaningful learning that meets rigorous academic standards, become well prepared for post-secondary experiences, and continue to take pride in the reputation for excellence at the WALC.
Most importantly, the WALC works to meet individual students’ learning style and needs. Each student is provided with a Continual Learning Plan (CLP) that addresses a student’s learning objectives and experiences for the year, the assessment measurements used to evaluate a student’s progress while documenting the requirements for grade level or other appropriate progression in the student’s education. CLP’s are re-evaluated each trimester

Central Intermediate School
Central Intermediate School exists to educate students on the path to reaching their full potential as learners. Our commitment is to collectively build upon established educational foundations and prepare students for future learning experiences. Central Intermediate School is a fourth through sixth grade building educating about 400 students. We are a school that boasts high academic achievement scores supported by a collaborative teaching model where teachers are dedicated to meeting students’ needs. We offer extracurriculars, such as band, choir, student council, Math Masters, and a yearly talent show.
Students are offered a strong core curriculum, which is standards-based, and a variety of supplemental learning opportunities and numerous field trips to enhance student learning. We also have a safe and healthy school environment and are committed to addressing and eliminating bullying at all grade levels. Hartley Elementary
Hartley Elementary takes great pride in high academic standards and quality programs for our students. We are a kindergarten through third grade building educating about 500 students. We are committed to helping each child develop academically, emotionally, and physically in a safe, respectful, and student-oriented environment that includes parents as partners in the learning process.
Hartley Elementary School is a Minnesota five star school in both reading and math and has been awarded the U.S. Department of Education No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School Award. Hartley has also earned the Minnesota School of Excellence Award. Hartley strives for a positive school environment committed to student achievement.
Hartley Elementary School hosts an All-Day Everyday Kindergarten program to meet the needs of our diverse young learners. Our staff differentiates the curriculum to meet the needs of all our learners including our high potential students. Hartley is well-known for its Response to Intervention Program in which individual learning plans with specific, researched based interventions are developed for students who may be struggling academically or behaviorally. Hartley fosters a safe and welcoming environment which incorporates a school-wide behavior program called WCRB that focuses on the practice of responsible behaviors. We teach students to Work, Cooperate, Respect and Belong.
