The purpose of the Waseca Development Corp (WDC) is to attain constructive, balanced economic growth for the Waseca area. We seek to improve the local economic base and increase permanent employment opportunities. We encourage and assist with an active response to investors or other business opportunities within the community, cooperating and acting in conjunction with other organizations, public or private, federal, state or local, in the promotion and advancement of industrial, commercial, agricultural, and recreational growth. The Waseca Development Corp and the Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce are working closely together with the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce state-wide Grow Minnesota! Initiative. Grow Minnesota! is a private sector business retention and expansion program, with a mission to retain existing businesses and encourage business expansion. The visits will obtain valuable information on business conditions and the steps that can be taken at local and/or state levels needed to encourage business retention and growth.
